About Us

ISAAC is a student team from Politecnico di Torino working in the field of robotics

Hi There!

It started initially with the aim of develop a humanoid robots. The team has undergone a change of course in 2017 when Prof. Quaglia became the new academic tutor. Now the team activities are focused on mobile service robots.

What is Mobile Service Robotics?

Service robots assist human beings, by performing a job that is dirty, dull, distant, dangerous or repetitive. The possible applications of robots to assist in human chores is widespread. At present there are several field of application.

Rese.Q

RESE.Q is made of three different modules, each equipped with it's own electronic board and mechanical sistem.

Electronics

Every module is provided with an electronic board that allows both the control of all the on-board systems (such as motors, IMUs, battery management, etc.) and communication between other modules. Every board is in turn controlled by a central computer, the "big brain"!

Mechanics

The movements are enabled by various mechanisms and motors. Horizontal traction is possible thanks to non-slip tracks, whilst a specific mechanical joint allows movements along the yaw axis..

Control

The two main focuses on the control side are the communication between each module, which constantly needs to talk to each other, and the general behaviour of the robot, controlled by the so-called code "AGeVar".
